Grassroots Grants has awarded £3,340.00 to the Burradon & Camperdown Forum
(“The Forum”) to purchase equipment for the youth club which is due to commence in September 2011.
North Tyneside Council’s Cultural, Sports and Leisure Department approached the Forum in April 2011 to discuss the possibility of organising a youth club for the children of the village. Although North Tyneside Council were able to provide the staff to supervise the youth club, the funding was not available to purchase the equipment.

The purpose of the youth club was to provide the children with a safe environment to socialise with a range of activities and encourage the young people to participate in workshops and out of hours learning.
Following a number of consultations with the young people a list of equipment was prepared and the Forum approached the Community Foundation to ascertain whether there was any funding available to purchase the following items:

Pool Table
Table Tennis Table
Seating
Table Football
Xbox Console and projector

The Forum was advised to submit an application to Grassroots Grants which was ultimately successful. The Forum wishes to express our gratitude to Grassroots Grants and Sue Martin and Jane Roberts-Morpeth of the Community Foundation, for their support and assistance.
