New Strips for Burradon Juniors

2008 Mar 02 - Burradon Juniors successfully secured the necessary funding to purchase new strips, tracksuits and balls for the teams. The management committee was genuinely overwhelmed with the generosity of the donors and sponsors which

enabled the Club for the first time to purchase the items for all of the children. In the event the funds had not been raised, the teams would not have been able to compete in the leagues and the loss of the junior teams would have been devastating for the players, families and the local community. The following organisations donated the funds:

The Mayor’s Wellbeing Fund     5,000.00
Peter Barratt Garden Centre      1,000.00
R W Mann Trust                            1,000.00
The Sir James Knott Trust          500.00
Holystone Demolition                  500.00
Newcastle Rugby Limited           500.00
The Halfway House                      400.00
Northpoint Accountants               250.00
Northumbria Water Plc                192.00
Shasun Limited                            100.00
Entek Limited                                50.00

Burradon Juniors also wish to extend their appreciation to Mr Frank Gillander. VODA and The Community Foundation for their advice and guidance during the funding application process which contributed enormously to securing the funds.

As a community we are extremely proud of Burradon Juniors and the opportunities the club provides to local children. The managers and coaches are excellent role models for the players and the number of hours they commit to managing the teams is commendable.

Burradon Juniors amalgamated with Burradon FC which will enable the players to progress from junior to senior football and hopefully the club will continue to develop a reputation for excellent football and sportsmanship.

The teams play their matches at Burradon Recreation Ground and the facilities are the envy of all visiting teams. The transformation of the Club's fortunes is due to the commitment and dedication of the management committee.
